The Dyadic Adjustment Scale Questionnaire

Ever wondered whether you are alone in your level of satisfaction/dissatisfaction with your relationship? Using a widely-known multiple-choice questionnaire that takes approximately 5 minutes to complete, check how well you are adjusting to your relationship compared with a large group of married couples. For answers to frequently asked questions about this questionnaire, click on any of the following links:

Is the questionnaire confidential and anonymous?

Unless you choose to show your results to your partner, friends, and family, the only persons who get your results online are you and Dawson Psychological Services. The identity you use when registering will be used as your name. You are free to choose an identity that does not match your real name. In case you are having in-person sessions with Dr. Dawson, it may become important to let Dr. Dawson know the identity you used. Otherwise, it is recommended that you don’t tell anyone the online identity you are using on the Dawson Psychological Services website. Other than described above, your questionnaire responses and your profile description remain confidential, are subject to your consent, and are stored using the highest security encryption protocols available online.

What information will my profile provide?

Based on a careful analysis of your responses, you will receive a full description of your DAS profile, information about strengths and challenges in your relationship, and some direction about how you may choose to use this information to improve your relationship.

Who do I contact with questions?

I haven't seen the DAS online before. Is this the first online DAS?

So far as investigations have shown, this is the first ever online version of the Dyadic Adjustment Scale.

Do online results on the DAS differ from those on the original paper questionnaire?

Because this is an online version of the DAS, this means that the results might not be the same as if the questionnaire were taken on paper. While the chances of this are probably small, the online results will be gathered and analyzed to form a set of online norms, in an effort to compare and contrast these to norms for the original paper questionnaire. In this information age, translation of paper into online communication modes is commonplace.

Are my online results used in research?

By using the questionnaire, you consent to the use of your results in research. Scientific procedures will be used to determine the validity and ongoing recommendations for the online use of the DAS. Updates will be available on the Dawson Psychological Services blog. Your raw data and profile results are immediately encrypted and stored using the highest security encryption protocols available online. Your identity and personal results will never be published in any form. Your results may be grouped with others to determine trends that are of interest to compare to results available on the paper version of the DAS. These trends and other statistics may be published on the Dawson Psychological Services blog.
